The brothers developed the area as part of the railroad boom at the end of the 19th century and remain a significant landscape feature in Altadena. Starting in the 1920s, the trees were lit during the holidays and became known as Christmas Tree Lane. They are one of the oldest outdoor Christmas displays in the country and continue to draw hundreds of visitors every year."
