Adventures in Preservation is committed to providing quality heritage travel experiences as we assist communities in saving their architectural heritage. To support our mission, we’ve improved our Privacy Policy to make it even more complete, protective of our users, and transparent. Here’s a short summary of the changes:

Adventures in Preservation (AiP) and take your privacy seriously. We gather certain types of information about our users and we want to help you understand the terms related to the collection and use of the information that we collect. This Policy discloses the types of information we gather, how we use it, and what choices you have regarding the collection of such information.

AiP reserves the right to amend this Policy at any time and without notice, and it is your responsibility to review this Policy for any changes. Your use of the Website following any amendment of this Policy will signify your assent to and acceptance of its revised terms.

If you are under the age of 13, we ask you not to submit any personal information to us. If you are under the age of 18, you must use this site with adult supervision.

Please note that unlike your personal information, any video, image, or other content posted onto the AiP website with your permission becomes published content and is not considered personally identifiable information subject to this Policy.


We collect information you provide to us, when you register to attend an AiP project, and when you sign up to receive the AiP newsletter. We may use device IDs, cookies, and other signals to associate browser sessions, accounts, and/or devices with you.  We also at times collect information when you communicate with us via phone or website. We store and analyze all content.

When you register for a project session via our website, you share your information with us. We collect information from your computers or mobile devices through analytics partners (including Google and Facebook), regarding your activity on the Website.  Our analytics partners collect location information from sources such as IP addresses and mobile phone network data. You can manage your location preferences and opt out of location tracking by using the location settings on your devices and within your web browser.


Our data collection allows us manage your registration and provide the best possible experience by communicating with you. We use the data we collect to improve offerings through the Website; to help authenticate your identity when you visit and transact with the Website; to prevent fraud; to remember your preferences and registration information; to present and help measure and research the effectiveness of the various offerings.

We are able to deliver and improve our Website by using the data we have about your interests.  We may use this data to maintain and improve the Website, fulfill your requests and when authorized by you, contact you, and defend against fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity.

Information submitted through the Nominate a Project form may be shared with other agencies and organizations that may have an interest in the project or be able to provide assistance.


We have technical and physical safeguards in place to help protect against unauthorized access, use or disclosure of user data. Please note that no data transmission over the Internet, and no information storage system is 100% secure.


Third party payment services provide all management of user credit card transactions. Adventures in Preservation does not receive, process or view any credit card information.

Credit card donations and registration fees paid through our website are processed exclusively by PayPal. PayPal is committed to providing safe, secure and private online transactions. For further details about their privacy practices, please consult their privacy and security policy directly.

When you make a donation to us through the Donate button on our website, Google shares your contact information (name, address, and email address) with us. We maintain this information in our database of supporters in order to keep you informed about upcoming workshops and related issues that may be of interest to you.

Special Note for Parents

Adventures in Preservation does not accept registrations via our website or any other means from anyone under the age of 18. If a person under the age of 18 wishes to participate in one of AiP’s onsite sessions, a parent or guardian must contact AiP with the request and associated information.
